The Academic Exchanges Office of the Public Affairs Section coordinates and provides information on U.S. Academic Exchange Programs for Ukrainian students, teachers, professors, and researchers primarily in the social sciences and humanities. Participation in these exchange programs is determined on the basis of a free and open competition for qualified, English-speaking applicants and is announced every autumn. U.S. GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR MID-CAREER PROFESSIONALS

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine is pleased to announce the beginning of the annual competition for Ukrainians to participate in the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. This is a 10-month, non-degree Master's level program for University graduates who have a minimum of 5 years management/policy-making experience.

The program is designed to enhance professional capabilities in the following fields:

  • Natural Resources and Environmental Management
  • Agricultural Development/ Agricultural Economics
  • Public Health Policy and Management
  • Substance Abuse Education, Treatment, and Prevention
  • HIV/AIDS Policy and Prevention
  • Urban and Regional Planning
This program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. Recruitment of Ukrainian participants and administration of the program is conducted by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv. Pre-Application deadline is May 5, 2008.
