U. S. Federal Benefits
American citizens may receive Social Security or other Federal
Benefits payments while residing in Ukraine. However, exceptions
have to be met to receive social security benefits in Ukraine since
Social Security restrictions prohibit sending payments to Ukraine
and some other countries, or sending your payments to anyone for you
when you’re in these countries. Please view the SSA regulation
regarding overseas payment at http://www.socialsecurity.gov/pubs/10137.html.
To qualify for an exception, you must agree to the conditions of
payment. One of the conditions is that you must appear in person at
the U.S. Embassy each month to receive your benefits. Please contact
the American Citizens Services Unit for additional information about
these conditions and whether you might qualify for an exception.
Your payment will be sent to the US Embassy via US treasury check or
direct deposited to your US bank account.
